Weight Gain! Summer 16
WHERE HAVE I BEEN?????
(I won’t explain because who
cares)
Hi, I’m sure if you are reading this you have probably
forgotten who I am or you don’t know seeing as I’m not a very popular blog,
yet, and you are a new reader if you are reading this.
I’m Nykia.
So I decided to do this because I would absolutely love to be
a gym rat. Working out is so satisfying and I think it would be better if I had
some weight to turn into muscle when I decide to exercise. Before I begin to
train, find, and implement a healthy regimen I think it’s important to lay down
some facts:
- I’m 106 lbs.
- I’m 5’4
- I’m African American
- I’ve been skinny all of my life L
- My body shape is pretty much a stick. (Need to do my measurements)
I’m a very picky eater so it’s been hard for me. The eating part.
And I also don’t eat healthy so that is another problem I have. I really don’t
like being this tiny and I wish to be a bit bigger; at least my arms and legs.
I think that would enhance my appearance a bit and it would prove to make me
healthier.
Gaining the weight is one battle and the next battle is
keeping it safely and healthily. I’m starting my research on what to eat and I’m
going to post a chart/list here so that I can keep up with what I eat. Watching
a video on YouTube from a personal trainer I learned that eating foods with the
high quantities of the following help the most:
- Food high in Omega 3 Fatty Acids
o Flaxseeds
o Walnuts
o Sardines
o Salmon
o Beef
o Soybeans
o Tofu
o Shrimp
o Brussels Sprouts
o Cauliflower
§ I don’t eat
a lot of the food on that list so I will have to choose which ones would be
great to add to my list of what I will eat. But those are the foods that were
in a chart on google…
- High Calorie Foods (Obvi)
o Fats and
Oils
o Nuts and
Seeds (Butters)
o Chocolate
(yum)
o Dried
Fruits and Fruit Juices
o Avocado
o Whole Grain
Foods
o Milk and
Dairy Foods
o Oily Fish
o Beef
§ I eat a lot
of the foods listed above, I have never tried avocado, but I don’t eat them on
a daily basis. I will have to stock up on some of those foods.
- Exercise & Supplements
o Be sure to
create a plan that works for you.
o Work your
whole body but not too hard.
o I’m trying
to gain weight but not trying to become a body builder but supplements will
help.
So for the foods that I will need to consume I have decided
to not make a chart. I’m lazy. But I think I will go the grocery store and purchase
some of the following. Yogurt(s), peanut butter, granola bars, trail mix, oatmeal,
dried fruit, and some fruit juices (also wouldn’t mind having some tea). I have
a budget and healthy foods are known to be extremely expensive so I’ll have to
be very cautious while shopping.
I may have been exaggerating about the starting tomorrow. I
think I will start the day after tomorrow. I’m quite lazy and have no
motivation.
Talk to you soon!
